Olinda – the most beautiful town in Brazil’s Northeast
March 13, 2019
Olinda was high on my list, after I heard many great stories about the town’s old colonial streets and relaxed atmosphere. These stories turned out to be very true. The town is absolutely stunning: cobbled streets and many, many colourful houses. To top that, the people were incredibly friendly and chatty, the town is relatively safe and it has a beautiful view of near-by city Recife. We were there just before carnaval (and Olinda is known for its carnaval, despite its small size it is in the top 3 of carnaval places to go), so the local carnaval band was practicing its songs every day. We had a fantastic time, and I couldn’t stop looking at the gorgeous houses and interesting people on the streets. Have a look for yourself in this photoblog of Olinda!
